WINNA - PATH OF THE SOULS

SYNOPSIS
«Winna – Path of the souls» is a film about an ancient, mysterious and fascinating part of the Alps in Switzerland. It shows legends and tales about dead people wandering around and the people who saw them. Old traditions are rediscovered, we hear from the storytellers who have collected these legends and people tell about their experiences with the dead. The stories are told over the backdrop of the magnificent mountain landscapes. The film arouses the audience’s curiosity: What exists between heaven and earth? And what is the relationship between this world and the hereafter?

Fabienne Mathier, PhD, was born in Salgesch (Valais, Switzerland). In her first career she obtained a PhD in psychology and worked as a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist with ten years of work experience. 2009/2010 she attended Theaterwerkstatt Heidelberg, a school for theater pedagogy in Germany. She wrote, directed and produced the play "Ego & Geist – Eine Komödie über das Innenleben des Menschen" ("Ego & Spirit – A Comedy about the Inner Life of Human Beings") which was performed in a theater in Zurich.
2011/2012 she attended Münchner Filmwerkstatt e.V., a film school in Munich, and graduated as a First Assistant Director. She gained her expertise in film directing, writing and editing at the München Film Akademie in Munich. Since 2011 she is working as a film director. In 2014 she founded her own film production and distribution company, MATHIER FILM. “Winna – Weg der Seelen” (“Winna – Path of the Souls”, 2014) is her first feature film, “Oneness – Journey of Awakening” (2020) is her second feature film which she did together with her husband James Kline.
